Notice the X-axis. It's labeled "savings." This is the savings, compared to the cost of the part if purchased new. So, for example, both an engine and a rear bumper are classified as "very high savings," because a recycled part might be significantly less expensive than the same part purchased new.
The Y-axis shows the risk of purchasing that particular part at a recycler. Risk includes two components:
Component 1: The part might not work. You've just bought yourself a headache. And, if you did the work, you're just wasted out the time involved to install the part.
Component B: The likelihood of serious injury, death or worse if the part fails.
